Design Engineer

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Design Engineer to join Cosworth to support the Process Engineering Group (Engine Build / Assembly Support) with design solutions. These will include custom assembly jigs/fixtures and assembly aids, for prototype tools and production equipment, providing capability solutions for efficiency and quality control.

The Role:

CAD bespoke design and release of drawings for a busy Manufacturing and Build Shop environment.

- Ongoing review and revision of existing equipment and assembly tools. - Support the implementation of processes and equipment for new parts e.g. designing hand held press tools, cylinder head mounting for seat and guide insertion. - Designing of all equipment needed to assemble high performance engines in a production controlled method. - Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities. - Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.

Candidate Profile:

- An interest in high performance automotive engines. - An Engineering/Motorsport degree or similar experience. - Experience of a CAD software package, NX an advantage with Teamcentre PLM. - A confident team player who is able to bring innovative ideas to the role. - A working knowledge of engine component function, Cylinder Heads, Crankcase Assemblies and Engine Assembly is an advantage.
