About the role
ABOUT THE ROLE
Operating at the highest levels of international motorsport, M-Sport UK delivers programmes across the FIA World Rally Championship, Rally-Raid, GT racing and a variety of global customer racing activities. We are looking to recruit a motivated and organised Engine Parts Assistant to join our busy Engine Department at our Dovenby Hall headquarters.
This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in supporting the preparation and delivery of high-performance competition engines. Working closely with Engine Builders, Engineers, Stores, Quality Control and other technical departments, you will assist with the management, preparation and availability of engine components, ensuring parts are handled accurately and efficiently to support engine builds and servicing activities.
The role responsibilities include:
Parts Preparation: Assist with the preparation, identification and organisation of engine components ready for engine builds and servicing activities.
Parts Management: Ensure engine parts are correctly identified, stored and maintained, supporting accurate stock control and traceability.
Documentation: Ensure relevant paperwork, component records and documentation are completed accurately and maintained as required.
Stock Control: Support regular stock checks and assist with maintaining accurate records of engine components and consumable items.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Stores, Purchasing, Quality Control, Engineering and other departments to ensure required components are available when needed.
Continuous Improvement: Support the Engine team in identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and working practices.

Essential Criteria & Skills:
Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately when handling small and precision-engineered components.
Organisation: Good organisational skills with the ability to manage parts, components and workloads effectively.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a busy technical team and support colleagues when required.
Quality Focused: Understanding of the importance of accuracy, cleanliness and quality when working with high-performance engine components.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technicians, engineers and other departments.
Problem Solving: A proactive approach with strong decision-making skills and the ability to resolve operational challenges.
IT Literacy: Competent using Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience working in automotive or motorsport industry within a stock control or parts inventory role.
A genuine interest in mechanical engineering, engines or motorsport.
