ABOUT THE ROLE

Operating at the highest levels of international motorsport, M-Sport UK delivers programmes across the FIA World Rally Championship, Rally-Raid, and a variety of global customer racing activities. We’re looking to recruit a skilled and enthusiastic Rally Technicians to join our busy Workshop team at our Dovenby Hall headquarters.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of M-Sport’s rally programmes, supporting the preparation, build, maintenance and servicing of high-performance rally cars. Working closely with colleagues across our technical, engineering and operations teams, you will play an important role in ensuring our vehicles are prepared to the highest possible standard for testing and competition both in the UK and internationally.

The role responsibilities include:

Rally Car Preparation: Prepare, build and maintain rally cars to the required technical standards ahead of testing, events and competitions.

Vehicle Builds: Assist with the assembly, preparation and modification of competition cars, following technical specifications, build requirements and engineering instructions.

Vehicle Maintenance: Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, repairs and component changes to ensure vehicles are fully prepared and reliable.

Fault Finding: Diagnose and resolve mechanical and technical issues efficiently, using a methodical approach to minimise downtime.

Event Support: Support rally programme tests and events both domestically and internationally, carrying out servicing, repairs and vehicle preparation as required.

Vehicle Systems: Work across a range of vehicle systems, including suspension, brakes, drivetrain, powertrain, steering and associated mechanical components.

Workshop Support: Assist with vehicle strip-downs, rebuilds, inspections and preparations between events and tests.

Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure vehicles meet M-Sport’s expected standards of quality, presentation and workmanship.

Essential Criteria & Skills:

Technical Understanding & Education: Educated to Level 3 Motor Vehicle or Race Technician standard with a thorough understanding of motor vehicles and their systems.

Motorsport Knowledge: Good understanding of high-performance vehicles and the demands placed on vehicles within a motorsport environment.

Technical Ability: Confident carrying out mechanical maintenance, servicing, component changes and vehicle preparation.

Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to vehicle preparation and presentation, with pride in delivering work to a high standard.

Problem Solving: A practical and methodical approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.

Quality Focus: High standard of workmanship, with the ability to identify defects and ensure completed work meets the required standard.

Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues across technical, engineering and workshop teams.

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively within a busy workshop environment while also being capable of working independently.

Global Travel: Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally and domestically to support events and tests.

Preferred Experience:

Previous experience working within a professional motorsport environment, ideally in rally, rallycross, rally raid, circuit racing or similar disciplines would be advantageous.
